The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Oyo State Council, has urged Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, to justify the support given to him by voters in the just-concluded governorship election in the state.

IPAC, in a statement signed by its Chairman, Apostle Dare Ojo, congratulated the governor and also advised him to ensure a sustainable development that would leave a lasting legacy in the life of the people of the state through true re-election.

The statement reads in part: “We the executive members of Inter-Party Advisory Council, Oyo State chapter, being one of the critical stakeholders whose contribution to the success of the just-concluded general elections cannot be underestimated, heartily congratulate your Excellency on your successful declaration as the governor-elect to fulfill your second term ambition.

“We urge Your Excellency to make good your campaign promises and justify your choice by the people of the state through their votes.”

Meanwhile, a former governor of the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, yesterday, congratulated the governor over his re-election for another term of four years.

In a congratulatory message already sent to Makinde, the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland prayed to God to help Makinde succeed in meeting people’s expectations.

Also, the Governing Council, management, members of staff and students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, have described the re-election of Makinde for a second term as well-deserved and recognition of hardwork for the good people of Oyo State.

This was contained in a statement issued on behalf of the institution and signed by the Registrar, Mrs. Modupe Theresa Fawale.

The institution noted that the governor had been exceptional in his performance during his first term and had supported the institution on all accreditation of programmes by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and other professional bodies.
