Three persons, including two security operatives, lost their lives when the convoy of the Katsina State Governor Aminu Masari was involved in an accident late Friday night.

The accident happened last night near a village called Jimkamshi, while the governor and his entourage were heading to Kafur his home town for the governorship and state house assembly election.

It was gathered that those killed during the accident area Kabir Adamu and Nural Safiyanu, all police officers.

It was learned that the third victim was a nephew of the governor, while three others sustained injuries during the incident.

It was gathered that the injured are currently receiving treatment at the hospital, while the bodies of the deceased persons would be buried later on Saturday.

Spokesperson for the police command in the state, SP Gambo Isah and media aide to the state governor, Al-amin Isah, both confirmed the incident.

According to Al-amin, “two policemen that died are Nura Sufayanu, Kabir Ali, and Amadu Ali, a nephew to the governor.

“The accident happened in a village called Gadar Tsuntsaye near Jikamshi in Musawa Local Government Area.

“Three other people are receiving treatment at Malumfashi General Hospital.”
