Kebbi NLC urges govt to implement new salary scale for teachers

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman, Kebbi State branch, Comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan, has appealed to the state government to implement the special salary scale approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for teachers in the state.

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Chairman, Kebbi State branch, Comrade Umar Halidu Alhassan, has appealed to the state government to implement the special salary scale approved by President Muhammadu Buhari for teachers in the state.

He made the call, yesterday, while fielding questions from newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, the state government needs to emulate the Federal Government by approving the same increment for teachers in Kebbi.

“What the President did for teachers is overdue, they should be the first people to be given good packages,” he stated.

Alhassan also admonished the government to implement the state salary increment of N30, 000 minimum wage.

Similarly, Kebbi State Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Issa Umar has applauded the President for giving teachers a lease of life by approving the special salary scale.
