The Chairman Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi State chapter, Alhaji Aliyu Jajarima, has vow to fished out quacks parading themselves as journalists in the state, with a promise to streamline the profession by removing all the irregularities that give it a bad name, as well as end the fake news syndrome.

Jajarima, who was recently re-elected, stated this yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, while addressing other elected members of the state executive of the union, said his administration was ready to maintain the tempo of the profession and ensure peace and harmony in the state.

He said his executive was able to transform the union from the verge of collapse to glory and within the three years of office, initiated welfare packages for families of late colleagues to bring succour to such deceased families, adding that for the first time, the state NUJ organised the zonal meeting in 2016 and was the first council to purchase a Toyota Avensus car for the union and organised a press week last year, during which, sons and daughters of the state, including Governor Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, were bestowed awards.

Jajarima commended the Bagudu administration for giving existing infrastructures a face-lift.
