Kwara government mourns State CAN Chair
The Kwara state Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Most Reverend Paul Olawoore has passed on. He died in the early hours of yesterday in Ilorin, the state capital, aged 60.
According to the Publicity Secretary of the state CAN, Sina Ibiyemi, Esq., Olawoore died after a brief ailment.
“He was given an award on Thursday, December 30, 2021, by the state chapter of National Orientation Agency (NOA).
He did not assign anyone to collect the award on his behalf. He was physically present there and did not show any sign of sickness until yesterday morning when we heard the disturbing news,” Ibiyemi said.
The Executive arm of the local CAN was scheduled for an emergency meeting yesterday in Ilorin to discuss some salient modalities on how a befitting burial would be organised for the late leader.
Meanwhile, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has commiserated with the Christian community on the death Olawoore.
In a statement by Chief press Secretary to the governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, AbdulRazak said the exit of Olawoore was painful.
