
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the three restaurants are: The Place, Chicken Republic, and Amala Palace.
NAN reports that the state govt also threatened to shut down four other restaurants over failure to comply with environmental laws.
Hajia Nafisat Musa-Buge, the state Commissioner for Environment, during an inspection of some restaurants within Ilorin metropolis on Thursday, expressed disappointment with the dirty environmental conditions of the restaurants.

Musa-Buge reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to ensure good health and well-being of its residents.
She lamented that despite repeated warnings, some eateries had refused to comply with environmental laws and ignored proper hygiene.
“We have received complaints from residents about these facilities, and our inspection has revealed that they engage in unacceptable practices.

“These include discharging untreated waste water from their eateries to the public, which is inimical to the healthy living of residents.
“The action of the present administration is aimed at protecting residents from harmful environmental condition that is detrimental to the residents’ health and safety.
It, therefore, becomes imperative for the government to close down some of the eateries that had received notices and refused to comply to warnings,” she said.
The commissioner warned that the government would not hesitate to close down any facility found wanting in adherence to sanitation laws.
She stated that in line with the environmental health laws, there were some conditions that must be met before re-opening the facilities.
“These includes effluent treatment of their pits, to avoid the emission of obnoxious odors and provision of sanitary dust bins with tight-fitting covers.

“Also, submission of medical certificates of fitness for the food handlers, provision of aprons for food handlers, reconstruction of defective septic tanks and general cleaning of the environment,” she said.
NAN reports that some of the eateries and restaurants visited include: The Place, Chicken Republic, Amala Palace, Iya Yusuf restaurant, T & K restaurant, Kwara Mall, Alhaja Ayoka food canteen.
Others are Item 7, The Mai Shayi, and The Chops Central, all located within Ilorin metropolis.
