Lagos State Government has charged residents to be Christ-like during the Yuletide by imbibing and emulating virtues of obedience, meekness, sacrifice and humility identified with Jesus Christ.

The state’s Commissioner for Home Affairs, Anofiu Elegushi, who stated this, yesterday, at the 2021 Lagos State Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons, themed, “The Amen,” organised by the first family and the Ministry of Home Affairs, said Lagosians had every reason to be thankful, especially having survived the many variants of the coronavirus.

The commissioner, however, said while the residents are in joyous mood towards the Christmas and New Year celebrations, they should be mindful of the fact that COVID-19 is still out there, seeking whom to devour.

“It is that time of the year again when we sing songs of praise and give thanks to God in Hymns and Psalms. The Yuletide season is here and it gives me great pleasure to welcome all distinguished guests to this auspicious occasion. We give God the glory for all the blessings He has showered upon each and everyone of us from January till date.”

MEANWHILE, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari on his 79th birthday today.

He described Buhari as a courageous and passionate leader, whose commitment to the growth and development of Nigeria is worthy of emulation.

In a congratulatory message, Sanwo-Olu said Buhari had provided honest and transparent leadership in the country.
