Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has praised the conduct of yesterday’s poll in Kwara State. Mohammed, who voted at his polling unit-Oro town in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state, said the exercise witnessed large turnout of voters in his area, adding that reports from other parts of the state confirmed that there was peace as at press time.

The minister, however, said that crisis always breaks out at the peak of election. He also dismissed claims by opposition in the state that the Federal Government was using security operatives to intimidate voters.

According to him: “They are not saying the truth. Look at where we are now, there is nothing like any security officers harassing the electorate. Only those who have ulterior motives should have something to worry about.”
