Twenty-four year old Michael Arowosegbe, who is the son of a former security officer at Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo, Joseph Arowosegbe, has emerged the best graduating student of the institution, with Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.68.

The young Arowesegbe, who graduated from the Department of Biochemistry, during his valedictorian speech yesterday at the combined (2013/2014 and 2014/2015) convocation ceremony of the institution, paid a glowing tribute to his father who was neglected by the appropriate authorities after he had an accident and sustained head and back injury while on duty.

As a result, his father who was a contract staff of the institution was disengaged without appropriate welfare arrangement by the then university management.

Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof Olanrewaju Fagbohun, has while urging the graduands to represent the institution boldly wherever they go, commended the Visitor to the university, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for his doggedness in transforming the academic and infrastructural landscape at LASU.
