Lawmaker says Buhari’s death rumour, depth of hatred, bitterness
Members representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives, Timothy Golu, has expressed dismay at the manner some Nigerians rejoiced over the rumoured death of President Muhammadu Buhari, in the United Kingdom.
According to the distraught lawmaker the rumour is a manifestation of the depth of hatred and bitterness amongst Nigerians.
Golu, who is the Chairman, Legislative Budget and Research Committee in the House said: “It is wrong for somebody to express happiness over some one else’s death. It shows the depth of bitterness and hatred we have for one another in the country,” adding that, “It is only God that gives and takes life.”
It would be recalled that Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, last Wednesday, described the rumoured death of President Muhammadu Buhari as a “silly thing.”
