Lions Club donates hand-washing basin to school

As part of efforts at improving the hygiene of pupils, members of Ikeja Metro Lions Club have donated hand-washing basins to Gbagada Primary School, Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the President of the club, Evelyn Agbonifo Fashakin, said soaps and sanitisers were donated.

“Lions identify a need and we quickly address it. Our mission is to serve. Our founder, Melvin Jones, would say, alone we can do so little, together, we can do so much more. Through our members, we donate, do fundraising, and solve social problems to make society better.”
Similarly, the District Governor of 404B, Ademola Adesoye, said: “We have celebrated hand washing in October but we couldn’t commission it because of some other projects. The idea behind the project is to inculcate the habit of washing our hands regularly to prevent contagious diseases.”
Expressing her appreciation, headteacher, Gbagada Primary School, Mrs Anyanwu Eucharia Nkechi, lauded the club for the gesture, saying it would help prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
