The Galadima of Muri, Alhaji Abba Tukur, has charged members of the Social Behavioural Change Committee (SBCC) in Taraba State to go extra legitimate mile in ensuring the gospel of family planning is spread and accepted by all, irrespective of religion and cultural affiliations.
The monarch, who made this known, yesterday, at the SBCC review meeting, held in Jalingo, the state capital, charged the committee members to fashion out ways of convincing persons living in rural communities to accept family planning.The meeting, which brought committee members and health educators together, was organised by the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (TSPHCDA) in partnership with The Challenge Initiative (TCI).
Lauding efforts of health educators across 16 local councils, the State Health Educator, Mercy Maigoge, said the dream of actualising family planning in Taraba would soon be realised, following the collaborative efforts of both the committee and the health educators.
The State Programme Coordinator (SPC) of TCI, Dr. Othman Sarki and the state Technical Support Lead for Demand Generation (STSL, DG), Victoria Mohammed Ibe, lauded TSPHCDA for the success of family planning in the state. He urged all hands to be on deck, so as to make child-spacing a reality in the state and the country.
