MSSN condoles with ex-commissioner over mother’s demise

The leadership of the Muslim Students’ Society of Nigeria (MSSN) in Lagos State has joined other well-meaning Nigerians to commiserate with Dr. AbdulLateef AbdulHakeem over the demise of his mother, Alhaja Risikat Balogun.

The former Lagos commissioner for Home Affairs had on Thursday, May 14,2020, announced on the death of his mother, urging Nigerians to pray for her but advised sympathisers not to come for her burial in order to comply with government’s directives on COVID-19.

In a statement, president of the student body, Dr Saheed Ashafa sympathised with him, saying its occurrence during Ramadan is a blessing, enjoining the bereaved to remain steadfast and encouraged other members of his family to imbibe the teachings of Islam.

He expressed conviction that being an Islamic scholar, AbdulHakeem would “display a sufficient level of perseverance”, but admonished him to “remain committed and constantly seek forgiveness for the departed soul as a worthy offspring”.
