The National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, has said it will mobilise Christians across the state to support President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, in the forthcoming elections.

The group disclosed this at a media parley ahead of its “Lagos Go 50 Project Campaign,” scheduled to hold September 3, 2026 at 58 – 60, Oduduwa Crescent, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

Speaking at the briefing, the National Director of Constitutional Strategies of the forum, Dr. Abraham Olaluwoye, who represented the National President, Prof. Peter Olanrewaju, said the programme was designed to mobilise Christians to participate actively in the electoral process.

Olaluwoye said the initiative would encourage eligible Christians to come out with their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and vote for Tinubu as well as candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to him, the organisation had previously held a similar mobilisation programme at the national level in Abuja, adding that the Lagos chapter was now replicating the initiative in the state.

He said representatives from all the local government areas and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos would participate in the programme.

“The programme ahead of us is “Operation Go for 50”. The purpose is to ensure that all Christians are mobilised to go out and vote for our principal, President Bola Tinubu, and all our candidates in APC,” Olaluwoye said.

He added that the event would feature prayers, a speech by the South West Region Coordinator of the movement, Dr. Olatunde Abimbola, drama presentations and other activities.

Also speaking, Abimbola, described ‘Lagos Go 50’ as a strategy for political mobilisation and sensitisation within the Christian community.

Abimbola said the initiative would target pastors and church members, particularly those who had registered to vote but might not understand the importance of participating in elections.

He said the group would use the campaign to sensitise Christians on the need to move beyond obtaining their voter cards to actually using them to participate in elections.

“One thing is to get the voter’s card. Another thing is to use it by voting,” she said, urging eligible voters to exercise their civic responsibility.

The Lagos State Coordinator of the forum, Daniel Olabode, said the event would bring together representatives from 37 LCDAs and 20 Local Government Areas in the state.

He said the participants would attend with invited guests, adding that the organisers were expecting about 1,500 people at the venue.
