NCPC lauds Enugu govt for outstanding pilgrimage support
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC) has lauded Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for his sustained support to the commission, describing him as the “most pilgrimage supportive governor” in the South East region.
Executive Secretary of the commission, Rev. Yakubu Pam, who stated this at the weekend during a ceremony to mark the end of the pilgrimage exercise for the 274 pilgrims sponsored by the state government to Israel and Jordan, explained that the number was the highest by any state government in the country.
“It is an awesome thing. It is only Enugu that has produced this number so far and we thank Ugwuanyi for his magnanimity and love for the country and Enugu, in particular. The condition of Nigeria is not the best at the moment and we need this kind of venture to overcome our challenges. Few states had come here this year, but none had this kind of number. NCPC is grateful to the governor for his supportive role. That was why the NCPC recognised Ugwuanyi, recently, as the most pilgrimage supportive governor from the South East,” Pam said.
If other governors are showing this level of commitment concerning the welfare of citizens, I believe we will have a good country,” he said.
