The political direction for Ndigbo ahead of the 2019 general elections will be firmed up on Monday next week as apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo holds this year’s Igbo day celebration in Owerri, Imo state capital.

The two –day event with the theme “Igwe bu Ike” which is expected to review Igbo’s trajectory from the past and chart a course for the future, would be used to honour Igbos that made the Supreme Sacrifice in various crises in Nigeria.

A statement from the President General, Chief Nnia Nwodo, stated that, it would also feature lectures, symposium and conferment of honours and awards on deserving Igbo leaders at the Ikemba Ojukwu Pavilion.

Expected at the event are members of the Imeobi, Governors of Ohanaeze Ndigbo 7 states in Nigeria, National Assembly members, Ministers, Council of elders and traditional rulers, representatives of Afenifere, Arewa, Pandel and Middle Belt forum as well as various Igbo groups.

The release further said that the event originally billed for September was shifted due to other several other circumstances that were beyond the control of the organization.
