Darah to deliver 6th Ibru lecture at MCIU convocation

Professor of Oral Literature and Folklore, Godini Darah, will deliver the 6th Dr. Michael Ibru yearly Memorial Lecture, organised by Michael and Cecilia Ibru University (MCIU), on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

Theme of the lecture, which is to celebrate the life and impact of the founder, Olorogun Michael Ibru, is ‘Education and the Challenge of Development in Nigeria: The Ibru Organisation as an Exemplar.’

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of MCIU, Oscar Ogbakpan, in a statement made available to The Guardian, yesterday, noted that the lecture is part of events lined up for the 4th Convocation of the university.

According to him, this convocation promises to be a beehive of activities, as the university has put together series of events, including international symposium, medical outreach, community service and a theatrical play.

The gathering for the award of first degrees, certificates and prizes to graduating students of the Faculties of Management and Social Sciences, Natural and Applied Sciences will take place in the morning and afternoon sessions on September 6, The Guardian gathered.

MCIU is licensed by the Federal Government to operate as a private university and is accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) to award degrees and for postgraduate studies.
