The Bayelsa State Police Command has declared a 36-year-old man, Bodmas Prince Kemepadei, wanted over his alleged involvement in the conspiracy and murder of 24-year-old Patrick Peresuodei in the Amas-soma/Yenagoa area of the state.
Peresuodei’s death in January 2026 triggered protests and widespread outrage following allegations of torture by security personnel and a
local influencer. The incident was said to have stemmed from a disagreement on Facebook and led to claims of extrajudicial killing, prompting a state government investigation and the arrest of several officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The Commissioner of Police, Iyamah Edebor, disclosed in a statement that a warrant of arrest had been issued against Kemepadei by the High Court of Bayelsa State.
The Police described the suspect as an Ijaw man, with a round face and dark complexion. His last known address was given as ICCH Centre, Tenacious Street, Ede-Epie, Yenagoa. The command urged members of the public with information on his whereabouts to report to the nearest police station or the Office of the Commissioner of Police at the State Headquarters in Yenagoa.
