Two people sustained injuries, while no fatalities were recorded in a multiple auto crash that occurred at Tolgate after a truck lost control and rammed into other vehicles on the Abeokuta-Lagos Expressway.

The accident involved: a. Benz Truck, Green, with registration number:JJT167XH; Toyota Camry, Black, with registration number:MUS745KP; Suzuki Yellow Bus with registration:LSD647YN! Toyota Camry Black, with registration number:LND862HA and Acura MDX, Green, with registration number:MU684KU.

Other vehicles involved are: Lexus Jeep, Ash with registration number:KSF966HF; GAC, Black, with registration number:KTU702EY; Bajaj Maruwa, Yellow, with registration number: BDS031VC; TVS Maruwa, Yellow, with registration number:EKY870GG and Mitsubishi, Black, with registration number: JBY529AA.

Spokesperson of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency(TRACE) Babatunde Akinbiyi confirmed this to newsmen in a statement in Abeokuta, yesterday.

Akinbiyi, who described the crash as a serious multiple road traffic accident, said that the exact number of occupants could not be ascertained as all the affected vehicles reportedly had occupants.

He said that, despite the severity of the accident that occurred on September 29, 2026, at Tollgate inbound Lagos, only two people( one female and one male) sustained varying degrees of injuries, with no fatalities recorded.

The TRACE’s Spokesperson said that according to an eye witness, the crash occurred when the Benz truck, which was travelling inward Lagos, reportedly lost control, resulting in the accident.

He said that the TRACE officers and Federal Road Safety Corps( FRSC) and police personnel were on ground for rescue mission.

Akinbiyi said that the two injured persons had reportedly been conveyed to a hospital by their family members before the arrival of the rescue team.

He said that operatives had towed some of the affected vehicles to the PAPA Oscar cage for further investigation, while three vehicles were removed by their respective owners.

The spokesperson said that the traffic was initially severely affected as a result of the accident but through the timely intervention of the operatives traffic was effectively managed and subsequently restored.

He said that the affected vehicles had been removed from the roadway, and normal traffic flow has been restored.
