Seek advice from exemplary persons, Buhari tells Lawan’s son, wife
As Eminent Nigerians Storm Kano For Wedding
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday urged the first son of Senate President Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan and his bride Amani to seek advice from balanced and exemplary persons as they enter into the marriage institution.
In his message at the event, he advised the newly-weds to emulate the life of the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, who he described as a balanced personality.
The News agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a statement by the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu in Abuja, quoted Buhari as saying: “If you’re looking for some advice on life relating to any aspect, you have to focus and learn from those with good examples.
“A good example to learn from is Lawan. In politics and life, he embodies many good virtues.”
Shehu stated that the President’s message was delivered by a delegation, comprising Ministers of FCT, Muhammed Musa Bello; Minister of Defence, Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi (rtd); his Agriculture and Aviation counterparts, Sabo Nanono and Hadi Sirika.
Amani is the daughter of a businessman, Alhaji Bala Umar and a native of Kano.
The marriage rites began on Wednesday with the bridal shower or Kamu in Hausa, followed by a dinner on Thursday at the Meena Events Centre in Kano.
The climax of the event was the wedding Fatiah, which held yesterday at the popular Al Furquan Mosque, GRA, Kano.
The wedding Fatiah was conducted by Chief Imam of the Mosque, Dr. Bashir Aliyu Omar Sadaki, while Minister of Communication, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, gave out Amani out in marriage, as Yobe State, Governor Mai Bala Buni received the bride.
Members of the red chamber led by Senate Leader, Dr. Yahaya Abdullahi and the green Chamber, led by Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, attended the event to show solidarity with Senate President and chairman of the National Assembly, Ahmad Lawan.
Others who graced the occasion are, former and serving governors, ministers and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshall Sadique Abubakar.
