The Vice Chancellor, Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), in Anambra State, Prof. Charles Okechukwu Esimone, has travelled to Kigali, Rwanda, to conclude arrangements in setting up Accredited Test Centre (ATC) at the home campus, Awka.
Esimone said he would meet with the Management of International Computer Driving License (ICDL) Africa, at the Headquarters in Kigali, for partnership with the university to set up an ATC.
A statement by the Special Adviser to the VC, Dr Emma Ojukwu, yesterday, said the meeting is to enable the university’s transformation agenda of the VC for digital literacy and information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills for the 21st century workplace.
The statement said: “The VC will be attending ICDL Africa Forum on October 25, 2023, at Kigali, Rwanda, to discuss ‘Digital Literacy For All: Tackling Challenges And Overcoming Barriers in Africa.
“This will reposition the university’s academic non-teaching staff and undergraduates/ postgraduates for a productive workforce by the proficient use of ICT that empowers individuals, organisations and society, through the development, promotion and delivery of quality certification programmes at the Unizik ATC.”
