Nigerians are asking Air Peace to reveal the identity of the politician it claimed disrupted flight operations in the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos on Wednesday morning.

The airline released a statement, disclosing how a “prominent politician” resorted to violence, disrupted its operations and attacked its staff after missing his flight that morning.

“Upon being informed of the missed flight, the politician resorted to violence, physically assaulting our staff and forcefully barricading the terminal’s entrance. He went as far as sealing the entry gate and manning the access point, effectively obstructing other passengers from gaining entry into the terminal,” the statement read in part.

The airline condemned the incident, which it tagged as unruly and unacceptable, but failed to disclose the identity of the “prominent politician” it mentioned.

Although it failed to disclose this information, videos circulating on X suggest the politician in question is a one-time Governor of Edo State.

Since the airline posted the statement on its X page, many users have called on the airline to reveal its identity.

One X user wrote, “I don’t know why you people continue to give this politician a chance to abuse power. The prominent politician is Adams Oshiomhole. Air peace should mention his name so the world will know and stop being scared”.

“There is nothing like a prominent politician, call him by his name, Adams Oshiomhole,” another user wrote.

Another user who accused politicians of using titles to conceal their bad behaviors also called on Air Peace to reveal the identity of the politician.

“Name him and shame him. They refer to themselves as ‘His Excellency’ and ‘Honourables’, but they are only trying to use fancy titles to hide despicable characters. Shame them,” he wrote.
