Concerned Northern Forum (CNF) has vowed to defend the declaration of Bola Tinubu as president-elect and ensure he is sworn in.

Following the issues that trail the general elections, the group urged him to unite the country when sworn in as president.

It insisted that Tinubu needed a peaceful Nigeria to operate as president and pleaded with him to work on national unity and peaceful coexistence.

Chairman of CNF, Aliyu Sanni, stated, yesterday: “The Concerned Northern Forum congratulates the president-elect, Bola Tinubu, on his victory and use the same opportunity to warn those fanning embers of hatred to desist from any act that will cause disunity in the country, as Nigeria is not a Banana Republic.

“Since the election has been held and a winner declared, those that are not satisfied with the outcome should seek redress in court or embrace the spirit of sportsmanship and congratulate the president-elect.”
