Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, yesterday, commiserated with former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, over the death of his mother, Mrs. Maria Oredola Igbinedion.

Similarly, frontline politician and proprietor of Abuja-based mega schools, Pacesetters Academy, Kenneth Imansuangbon, condoled with the ex-governor and his family on the demise of their matriarch.

In a statement, Obaseki said the late matriarch would be remembered for her wise counsel, charming character and love for God.

He said, “I am saddened by the sad news of the passing of your dearly beloved mother, Mrs. Maria Oredola Igbinedion. Mama was loving and compassionate, giving herself freely to causes she cared deeply about and worked assiduously to make society better for all.”

Imansuangbon described the deceased “as a rare breed whose footsteps in the sands of time would for long be talked about, considering that she played well her role as a mother, mentor and caregiver, not only to her children but to many others that came in contact with her.

“From my experience in my relationship with some of her children namely Lucky, Bright and Charles, it shows that they are well brought up and derive joy in impacting positively on mankind.”
