Ogun NSCDC investigates clash with Police

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command has confirmed that it is investigating a clash between its officers and those of the Nigeria Police Force at the Government Science and Technical College, Kemta Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

According to a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC Ogun State Command, CSC Sulaimon Folorunso, the incident occurred on Friday, March 6, 2026.

The statement clarified that the NSCDC personnel were lawfully deployed to the school in line with the Corps’ statutory responsibilities to protect critical national assets and infrastructure.

“We wish to inform the public that the NSCDC personnel were acting within their mandate as provided in Section 3(e,f) of the NSCDC Act 2003 (as amended 2007),” Folorunso said.

According to Folorunso, the NSCDC has engaged with the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force in Ogun State, and both commands are working together to address the situation in a spirit of professionalism and mutual respect.

“The matter is currently under administrative and operational review to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident,” Folorunso explained.

“The investigation is ongoing, and we will provide more information as soon as possible.”, the statement added.

The NSCDC Ogun State Command thereafter reassured the public of its commitment to professional service delivery, effective inter-agency collaboration, and the protection of public institutions and government infrastructure throughout the State.

“We appreciate the concern expressed by members of the public and reiterate our commitment to working with other security agencies to safeguard lives, property, and critical national assets across Ogun State,” Folorunso said.
