Ondo Assembly seeks federal help
Speaker of Ondo House of Assembly, Mr. Olamide George, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari and the leadership of both chambers of the National Assembly to urgently intervene in the festering crisis rocking the legislative arm of government in the state.
Addressing reporters in Lagos yesterday, the speaker said it was imperative that the president, federal lawmakers and Governor Rotimi Akeredolu ensure that sanity returns once again to the House in the interest of the state.
George insisted that the state lawmakers deserved free hands to exercise their legislative functions in accordance with the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and wishes of the electorate.
He appealed to the governor to “allow rule of law prevail in the present circumstances.”
