Onu commends UNN on human capital development

Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu has commended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for her efforts in human capital development.

Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu has commended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) for her efforts in human capital development.
 
Onu made the commendation in Nsukka yesterday in a ceremony tagged “1st Technovation Celebration” organized by the Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) department of the school to show-case products produced by the department. 
 
The Minister said that he was impressed that the department established in 2015 was able to produce products such as paints of different colours named Lion paints, Lion car battery charger, Lion perfume, Lion detergent and Lion disinfectants among others. “For Nigeria to become one of the best economies in the world as well as reduce unemployment, we must produce products Nigerians use every day”, he said.
 
Onu who was represented by the Director General Nigeria Institute of Science Laboratory Technology (NISLT) Ibadan, Yemi Gbadegesin, announced that UNN was among seven universities the ministry had certified to run science and tech courses. Head of Department, SLT, Marie Dibua stated that the department was designed to train young people in various facet of science and technology entrepreneurship.
