Osun polls: APC national secretary tasks stakeholders on unity, hard work

The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, on Tuesday said the party can only win August 15 gubernatorial poll in Osun through unity and hard work, saying the exercise governorship is critical to the future of the state.

Basiru in a statement on Tuesday in Osogbo, was said to have spoken during a high-level strategic meeting held at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja ahead of the election.

He charged party leaders and members in the state to redouble their mobilisation efforts, remain united and work tirelessly to secure victory for the party’s candidate, Bola Oyebamiji.

Basiru underscored the need for party faithful and supporters to remain focused, law-abiding and committed to democratic values, while encouraging eligible voters to participate peacefully in the poll.

The statement added that “party leaders at the meeting reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the APC and expressed confidence in its growing acceptance across the state.

“It noted that the leadership stressed that its experience, capacity and collective resolve would be fully deployed to ensure a successful, issue-based and peaceful campaign.

“The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by stakeholders to deliver victory for the APC and its governorship candidate. It expressed optimism that Osun is poised for a new era of purposeful leadership, inclusive governance, sustainable development and shared prosperity under Oyebamiji.

“It reviewed the party’s preparedness for the election and deliberated on strategies to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, enhance voter engagement, consolidate party unity and ensure a coordinated campaign across all local government areas and wards in the state, “the statement concluded.
