Oyo APC, group trade words over projects executed by Makinde
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State chapter, and a socio-political body, Oyo Kajola Group (OKG), yesterday, traded words over infrastructure executed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led administration of Governor Seyi Makinde since 2019.
The APC, in a statement by its Caretaker Publicity Secretary, Dr. AbdulAzeez Olatunde, described most of the projects executed by Makinde since 2019 as slip-shod.
The party also lambasted Makinde over his government’s claim to have procured fire-fighting vehicles from Turkey for over a year that are not working.
BUT in a reaction, Media Co-ordinator of Oyo Kajola Group, Adebayo Ayandele, carpeted APC for lack of constructive criticism. The group said Makinde had repositioned and brought prosperity to Oyo State in 31 months.
The group said that Makinde’s administration is ending 2021 on a very high note with several landmark projects.
The group, which scored Makinde high on delivery of his campaign promises along the four service point agenda of security, health, education and economic expansion through agribusiness, maintained that the government had succeeded in repositioning and transforming Oyo State with notable infrastructure development, growth in internally-generated revenue and improvement in the education sector, among others.
It added that the policies and programmes of the administration had also successfully ensured the state’s residents are moving from poverty to prosperity in line with the electioneering promise of the governor.
The group maintained that 31 months of Makinde’s governance in Oyo State had exposed the underbelly of the corrupt and nefarious government run by the APC in eight years.
It wondered where the APC got the courage to criticise Makinde and publish outright lies despite the fact that the immediate past APC government led by Ajimobi was guilty of wasting and looting the resources of Oyo State under the guise of building a four-star hotel beside the Premier Hotel, Ibadan, without any visible mark to show.
