Police arrest suspected armed robber in Ogun

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested suspected armed robber, Isikilu Moses, while carrying out a robbery operation at Joju area of Sango Ota.

Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested suspected armed robber, Isikilu Moses, while carrying out a robbery operation at Joju area of Sango Ota.
  
The suspect was arrested after policemen at Sango divisional headquarters received a distress call that armed robbers had invaded Adebeshin Street, off Joju road, Sango Ota and dispossessed members of the community of their belongings at gunpoint.
 

  
The Guardian learnt that upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer of Sango division, Saleh Dahiru, mobilised his patrol team and moved to the scene.
  
On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums took to their heels. They were chased and one of them, Moses was arrested.
  
Recovered from him are, one local-made pistol and two mobile phones belonging to their victims.
    
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation.
  
He also ordered a manhunt for the remaining members of the gang with the view to bringing them to justice.
