Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have killed a wanted kidnapper known as Sunday Amadi (aka Occasion), even as they rescued four victims in Emohua Local Council.

According to a statement, the arrest happened in the early hours of Wednesday, December 14, 2023. It reads: “Policemen on patrol, on the day of the kidnapping, did not stop searching for the victims and were pleased to discover the camp of the kidnappers on the third day. They conducted thorough surveillance to eliminate incidence of collateral damage before engaging the criminals.

“In the confrontation that ensued, two of the kidnappers were killed, including the leader of the gang, Sunday Amadi, who had N2million bounty placed on him by the chairman of Emohua Local Council. One of the victims had to be taken to the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital after sustaining injury from the kidnappers.”
   
Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, commended the men of the command for their professionalism and persistence in bringing criminals to their knees. He said the command would stop at nothing to rid the state of criminals.
