Police warn against violence in Niger during APC primaries
Niger State Police Command has warned against thuggery and other forms of violence before, during and after the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), billed for May 20, 2022.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Wasiu Abiodun, assured members of the public and party actors that adequate security measures had been put in place by security operatives in the state for the exercise.
Warning those who have no business with the exercise to stay away from the venues, he advised delegates to conduct themselves maturely and properly.
According to him, the police and other security agencies will not hesitate to clamp down on any miscreant, who may wants to foment trouble during the exercise.
It, however, advised parents/guardians to prevail on their wards against being used as political thugs to disrupt public peace or political activities, as anyone found in the act of thuggery shall be dealt with in accordance with the law.
