Presidency impressed by Ododo’s stewardship, says Shettima

The Federal Government, yesterday, commissioned a number of projects to mark one year of Ahmed Usman Ododo in office as Governor of Kogi State.

President Bola Tinubu was represented by his deputy, Vice President Kashim Shettima, at the ceremony.

The Vice President, who arrived the state in company of All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr Umar Ganduje and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, around 12 noon through the Dangote Airstrip, received a rousing welcome.

The entourage was received by Governor Ododo, his deputy, Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris wada, commissioners and other government officials.

The projects commissioned included the  Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction Road (nine kilometres), Zone 8 – Crusher Road (5.5 kilometres), 350 bed hostels for both boys and girls at Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Demonstration Farm,  two faculties in the same university and some primary healthcare centres (PHCs) across the state.

Addressing the presidential delegation, Ododo said the projects were a demonstration of his desire to improve the wellbeing of the people of Kogi State.

The governor noted that the programmes were part of his campaign promises to the people.

He thanked his predecessor for laying a solid foundation for him to work upon for the growth and development of the state.

Immediately after commissioning of the projects, the team headed for the Government House, were they discussed with stakeholders before proceeding to the Muhamadu Buhari Square for the elaborate anniversary celebration.
