Pro-unity convener urges unity to overcome Nigeria’s challenges
A Pro-unity convener and founder, For The Love Of Our Nation, Oluwagbemiga Adekoya, has said that the challenges facing the nation will be a thing of the past when citizens see it as their duty to ensure a better country.
He made the comment at a rally in Ikeja, Lagos.
He said: “People must be seen from their state of residence instead of their state of origin. Also, we should see ourselves as Nigerians where we all live in harmony.”
Speaking further, the CEO, Adbond Harvest and Homes said: “What we are trying to portray through the Love For Our Nation project is that people can only contribute to the development of something when there is love for it.
This project shall be a continuous one that will always help the citizens to find the reason they should love the country.
He added: “Nigerians are praying for unity but they are living in disunity. Look at buildings in the US and the UK, only few are fenced, but Nigerians cite insecurity as reason for fencing, but whereas we can encourage communal security because when we stop seeing the need to mount barrier in accessing one another, then we will see reasons to live in unity.
Advising the youths to invest towards their future, he said: we realised that the youths have the notion that they have to wait till when they start earning big money before they can own a land, so we decided to look away from scarcity and moved outside Lagos. We are trying to tell the youths that it’s time to move to an environment of abundance, which is still rural today.
Speaking on her expectation for Nigeria at 61, Co-founder, Adbond Harvest and Homes, Wunmi Oluwagbemiga, said: “the change we want start from individuals, as a firm, we are giving hope to the people and we are saying that no matter what is happening in the country, we are all we have, and one of the things we are doing is promoting unity, because we know that great things can happen if we are united.
She added: “Agriculture remains a sector that can generate large some and that’s why we are educating the youths to study the time where Agriculture was the cash cow. No one will go hungry with what we have in the nation so, we are educating the youths that they should start with agriculture and end with home, and that’s why we are called Agro to home developer.”
