Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi

Gov. Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi has expressed appreciation to the people for re-electing him in Saturday’s governorship poll in the state.
Bagudu expressed his feelings at news conference to mark his victory in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.

He said that the entire people of the state deserved to be thanked for giving him yet another mandate to lead them as well as all APC candidates who were elected at both national and state house of assembly elections.

“I must give thanks to God and appreciate people of Kebbi State for coming out in large numbers to vote for me and all APC candidates during the just concluded elections,” Bagudu said.

He also commended the APC campaign team in the state, security agencies and the media for their unflinching support during the electioneering period.

Bagudu also expressed his desire to see the state more united under one single party.

“I am not canvassing for one party system but I am in support of peace, stability and development of the state.

“That is why I and my party appreciate bringing everyone who matters on board,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had on Sunday declared APC’s Bagudu as winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.

Bagudu of APC scored 673,717 votes to beat Sen. Isah Galaudu of PDP who polled 106,633 votes in the election.
