‘Religion, key to winning fight against corruption’

Ibrahim Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission

The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has identified religion as key in the fight against corruption in Nigeria.

Magu said this yesterday while receiving delegation of the Interfaith Mediation Centre (IMC), Kaduna, Kaduna State, who paid a visit to the zonal office of the commission.

Zonal Head, Mailafia Yakubu, who received members of the delegation on behalf of the EFCC boss, said: “Every religion abhors corruption.”

He, therefore, called on religious leaders to urge their followers to shun corrupt practices.

He further gave assurances of the commission’s commitment to partner with religious bodies in the fight against corruption.
