The Bayelsa State chapter of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) has congratulated Hon. Dr. Peter Akpe on his emergence as the new Deputy Governor, describing Governor Douye Diri’s choice as a strategic decision.

State Coordinator of RHA, Timipa Tiwei Orunimighe, in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary, Engr. Udengs Eradiri, said Akpe’s experience as a former lawmaker and Chief of Staff to the governor makes him highly qualified for the position.

Describing Akpe as a grassroots politician, seasoned educator, and political strategist, Orunimighe noted that his appointment would help the Prosperity Administration of Governor Diri “finish strong.” He also highlighted the widespread jubilation across the state, reflecting Akpe’s broad acceptance among stakeholders.

Orunimighe further emphasized that Akpe’s appointment would strengthen the penetration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa and promote the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.

He added: “We call on all stakeholders to support and cooperate with the new Deputy Governor as he works towards actualising the vision of the Prosperity Administration.”
