Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that the Rivers State government is not afraid of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He reiterated that the federal agency had no powers to investigate the financial transactions of his administration.

The governor made the assertion yesterday when the Group Managing Director-designate of Zenith Bank Plc., Mr. Ebenezer Onyeagwu, led other officials of the financial institution to visit him at the Government House, Port Harcourt.

He pointed out that for the anti-graft agency to investigate the state’s finances, it must first vacate the Federal High Court judgment that stripped it of that duty.
