…demands formidable strategies against terrorism

A security analyst in Zamfara State, Alhaji Abdulahi Usman has lamented over the persistent terrorism in Nigeria, despite thousands of military and security operatives that are well trained in the field and well paid.

According to him, there is no reason reasonable enough for the security operatives not to wipe out the criminal elements from the county within a short period of time, because Nigeria has the manpower to do so.

This was stated during a Press conference with journalists in3 Gusa6, Zamfara State capital, saying that the federal government has neglected the poor masses that voted them into power.

Usman noted that the federal government has every resource to put in place formidable strategies that can silence terrorism and other forms of criminalities in the country, but no political will.

According to him, security of lives and property of the innocent citizens rest wholly on the shoulders of the federal government, not State Governments, but States can provide logistics to assist security operatives for effective operations.

” The military, police, Civil Defense are and other security agencies are federal government agencies, apart from the local security outfits that belong to the State Governments that are operating without sophisticated weapons”, he added.

He further said that the issue of terrorism in the country, as it is now, has gone beyond the power of the federal government, because many prominent individuals are involved since abduction has become a booming business in Nigeria today.

“But the issue has become a teething problem to the helpless masses, as nobody can sleep with two eyes closed in Nigeria”

“Nobody, even the security operatives cannot boast of adequate security. If security operatives cannot be secured, then the common people are in trouble”

“As the terrorists are constantly ravaging the entire country without any sign of wiping them out from the system, it seems that Nigeria has no security operatives to quell the dastard activities of the criminals. And that is not favouring the country”

“Nigeria is still a country, not yet a nation, as the country cannot handle security challenges bedevilling the country, with numerous military, police, Civil Defense and other security personnel”

“The politicians that are supposed to rescue the people are busy seeking for reelections, and fighting to amass wealth, when the people who voted them into power are languishing in bandits’ dens, many are dying there”

“Democracy, they said, is the government of the people for the people by the people. But Nigerian politicians have removed that from their dictionary. It is now the rich get richer while the poor get poorer. Such is Nigeria’s democratic system”

“If our forefathers, who governed Nigeria when Nigeria was a good country should germinate from their graves and witness what is happening in Nigeria today, they will be full of surprises and shock”

“The Nigerian politicians have made the country so hard that everyday, people are dying of hunger and starvation. Citizens are running away from their own country due insecurity, hunger and starvation”

He however, called on the federal government to make a rethink in order to free the innocent citizens from the bondage of insecurity.
