Sunday Marshall Katung

The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Marshall Katung has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the Emir of Jama’a Alhaji Muhammadu Isa Muhammadu, following the fire outbreak at the Emir’s Palace.

In statement, Senator Katung said that he received the news of the sad incident at the historic palace in Kafanchan, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, with shock and sorrow.

The Statement issued by the spokesman of Senator Katung, Midat Joseph described the incident as “painful, particularly given the cultural, historical, and emotional significance of the palace to the Jama’a people and the wider Southern Kaduna community.”

Katung noted “with sadness the reported destruction of four flats within the palace complex, especially the wing occupied by the revered mother of His Royal Highness.”

He emphasised that the Emir’s Palace is a sacred symbol of heritage, unity, leadership, and the collective identity of the Jama’a people. Any damage to such a revered institution, he said, is deeply felt by all.

The Senator expressed “immense gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT) for the absence of casualties,” describing it “as a clear sign of divine protection over His Royal Highness, the royal household, and the entire community.”

He thanked God for His mercy in preserving lives amid the distressing incident.

“In moments such as this,” Senator Katung stated, “true leadership and resilience come to the fore.”

He also praised the Emir for his consistent display of wisdom, calmness, and fatherly guidance, expressing strong confidence that “under the Emir’s noble stewardship, the Jama’a Emirate will recover from this setback with renewed strength, unity, and purpose.”

Senator Katung further commended the swift response and collective efforts of security personnel, local volunteers, and well meaning sympathisers “who acted promptly to contain the fire and prevent further damage.”

Their actions, he noted, reflect the deep respect for the throne and the strong bond that unites the Jama’a people.

“On behalf of the people of Kaduna South Senatorial District, the Senator reaffirmed their unwavering support, prayers, and solidarity with His Royal Highness and the entire Jama’a Emirate during this difficult time”, the statement stressed.

Senator Katung prayed that “Almighty Allah grants His Royal Highness long life, sound health, continued wisdom, and divine grace to keep guiding the Jama’a Emirate toward peace, stability, and greater heights.”
