Irked by a high level of youth unemployment in the South-East geo-political zone, an elder statesman and Chairman of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Elders Council, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has hinted that there would be a collaborative industrial economic revolution in the zone soon.

He noted that the heavyweights in the zone were aware of the economic, social and political problems bedevilling them.

Iwuanyanwu, who spoke while receiving the leadership of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Youth Wing in his office in Owerri, maintained that the impending industrial feat would be geared towards employing several youths in the zone in addition to improving the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the zone and also export some of the products to improve the Gross National Product (GNP) of Nigeria.

He added that goods and services would also be provided by the plan.

The elder statesman said that if many industries and production companies were established, youth restiveness would be curbed while crime will also reduce to the barest minimum because an idle mind is the devil’s workshop.

According to him, peace, unity and rapid development would be achieved by that.

Iwuanyanwu, who is a strong advocate of youth empowerment and human capital development, maintained that with the economic revolution project implementation, the South-East would be the pride of the nation in the next 10 years.

Speaking, the National Assistant Youth Leader of the body, Wenceskus Ogbonnia, said they were elated by Iwuanyanwu’s disposition to emasculate the region from encumbrances and shackles of poverty.
