Stakedolers in the creative industry have called on the Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, to partner with non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) with a focus on skill acquisition, up-scaling and empowerment to succeed in the fight against unemployment and restiveness among youth.
Speaking on the occasion of the first skill exhibition and empowerment grand finale of MmaIgbo Empowerment Foundation (MIEF) with the theme, ‘Promoting Igbo Cultural Heritage and Identity through Skills Acquisition and Empowerment,’ its Director-General, Uzo Ekemezie, said the government couldn’t create jobs alone because of limited human, material and financial resources.
Ekemezie said MIEF has commenced train-the-trainer programmes to make graduates employers of labour to help the state government fight youth unemployment and restiveness.
He disclosed that, in addition to engaging the youth in productive ventures, the anticipated partnership between the state government and MIEF would help secure a prosperous homeland for Ndi Anambra.”
