The newly-installed Rotary Club Governor, District 9110, Omotunde Lawson, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that every voter’s right is upheld and sustained in 2023 elections and conduct a peaceful election.

Lawson gave the charge during her official visit to Rotary Club, Lekki Central and induction of seven members of the club at the Lekki Conservation Centre, Lagos.

Similarly, Lawson, who spoke at the formal investiture and presentation of Rotarian Eucharia Ndudirim as the 11th President of Rotary Club of Festac Central in Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos, applauded and extolled the sterling virtues of the media for their immense promotion of the club’s contributions and activities in making the society, the nation and the entire globe better than they met them.

She said: “Everybody must be law abiding and peaceful. We have signed a pact with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and we are on a mission to advocate a peaceful election.

“We have made a call that voters’ rights must be sustainable. We must have free and fair elections and voters’ right must be upheld across the nation.

“The essence of my visit is for appraisal and to see if the club is working according to the constitution of Rotary International, see if they are really serving the community the way they should, know their challenges and what they can do.

The Rotary governor, who spoke on her role and legacy as the first female governor of the district, said: “Women have been short-changed for long but it is the report at the end of the year that will tell the whole story.
