Taraba lawmakers impeach deputy speaker
Lawmakers of the Taraba State House of Assembly Monday impeached the deputy speaker Mohammed Gwampo.
Gwampo, a lawmaker representing Yorro State constituency of the state, was impeached during Monday’s plenary session.
Taraba lawmakers impeached Gwampo for a show of lack of competence in discharging his duties.
The motion for his impeachment was moved by the former majority leader Albasu Kunini of Lau State constituency.
The lawmakers elected Charles Maijankai of Karim Lamido I State constituency as the new deputy speaker.
Prior to his election as deputy speaker, Maijankai was the majority leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly.
