The Guardian maritime reporter, Adaku Onyenucheya, receives COMTUA media personality award

The Guardian maritime reporter, Adaku Onyenucheya, has received the Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA) 2022 Media Personality of The Year Award (print category).

The Guardian maritime reporter, Adaku Onyenucheya, has received the Council of Maritime Transport Unions and Associations (COMTUA) 2022 Media Personality of The Year Award (print category).

The award was in recognition of her efforts in contributing to the growth and development of trucking, haulage and logistics business in Nigeria.

The ceremony was held during the 2022 edition of COMTUA’s yearly congress in Ikeja, Lagos, on November 25.

Other recipients of the Media Personality Award are Mussadiq Adesina Elegbede of LTV 8 (television category) and Aderohunnu Folashade of Traffic Radio (radio category).

The council also honoured distinguished personalities, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams; Executive Secretary, Nigerian Shippers’ Council, Emmanuel Jime; Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Muhammed Bello-Koko and Professor of Transport Planning and Policy, Lagos State University (LASU) School of Transport and Logistics, Prof. Samuel Odewunmi.

Others are AIG Zone 2, Zonal Headquarters, Bode Adeyinka Adeleke; Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Biodun Alabi; Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor, Ministry of Transportation, Sola Giwa and Commissioner of Police, Special Weapons and Tactics, Adeleke Olatunde.

National President of COMTUA, Adeyinka Aroyewun, appreciated the awardees, saying the gesture was the council’s little way of appreciating them for their support.
