Nigeria and Africa’s online news platform, TheNewsGuru.com and Africa Independent Television (AIT) have partnered to hold a one-day colloquium on the delay and fate of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

The event, titled: PIB: Finally Getting It Right And Breaking The 20-Year Hiatus, will hold on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, between 11:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m.

Publisher of TheNewsGuru.com and Chief Host of the event, Mideno Bayagbon, said the focus of the summit would be to end the challenges of enacting the PIB law aimed at transforming the industry and initiating firm roadmaps for the Federal Government, industry operators, communities and the Niger Delta states.

The virtual event, which will be streamed on Africa Independent Television (AIT), Zoom and Youtube is structured into two segments with former Delta State Governor, Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan and former Senate President and ex-Secretary to Government of the Federation (SGF), Anyim Pius Anyim, will be chairmen of respective sessions.

Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege and former governor of Edo State, Prof. Oserhiemen Osunbor, will deliver the keynote address on Analysis of PIB’s Legal Framework And Its Governance, and how it will affect communities and the administrative effects of the PIB when passed into law.

In the event, which will be attended by eminent Nigerians across various sectors, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources and former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva will deliver its goodwill message, while the live conference will be moderated by the Chairman of TheNewsGuru.com’s advisory board, Dr. Chidi Amuta.
