A Presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, yesterday, tasked the governorship candidate of the party in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin, to do everything possible to pacify aggrieved leaders and members before the presidential primary scheduled for Monday.

Tinubu spoke in Ibadan while addressing delegates and members of the party.

The former governor of Lagos State did not dwell on his presidential aspiration but rather emphasised the need for Folarin, who is assumed to be currently the axe man of APC in Oyo State, to urgently ensure that he brings back party members who are aggrieved, following the outcome of the recent primaries.

He said: “You must begin to visit those who contested against you and others who are not happy. Make sure you resolve the crisis. It is very important. If you don’t resolve the crisis and bring everybody together as one, you won’t win. I will come back again. We will do whatever we can behind the scene to resolve the crisis, and God will help us.

“But you have a lot of work to do. You will go from house to house and beg them. You must visit them; you must beg them. You will contest and you will win.”

Tinubu also introduced and urged support for Dapo Lam Adesina (who is running for House of Representatives), Olamiju Alao-Akala and Idris Ajimobi who are both running for seats in the Oyo State House of Assembly.

Expressing his gratitude to Tinubu for coming to the state, Folarin revealed the favour Tinubu did for him in 2003 when he was Governor of Lagos State, despite the fact they both belonged to different political parties then.

Folarin said Tinubu allocated a plot of land for him in Lekki and sent the allocation papers to him in Abuja through Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

“We must never forget our benefactors and we must never betray them. Oyo State delegates are for Asiwaju. I want to assure you that you have our total support, sir. Oyo State is for you,” Folarin assured.

Tinubu was accompanied by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator and former Governor of Borno State, Kassim Shettima; Senator representing Lagos East, Tokunbo Abiru; Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Special Duties, Malam Yau Darazzo; Speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudasiru Obasa; former Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and others.
