Tinubu urges Yahaya, Gwamna to unite for prosperous Gombe

Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya

President Bola Tinubu has called on Governor Muhammadu Yahaya and the Gombe State All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dr Jamyl Gwamna, to close ranks, reminding them that only unity, continuity in governance, and the consolidation of ongoing economic reforms will guarantee the state’s peace and prosperity.

The president spoke after a closed-door meeting with Yahaya and Gwamna at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, as part of consultations aimed at advancing the vision for a more prosperous and economically vibrant Gombe State.

In a statement, Gwamna’s media aide, Ibrahim Shawai, said the meeting focused on sustaining the state’s continued development and the gains of the outgoing administration of Governor Yahaya.

It noted that Yahaya used the opportunity to formally present Gwamna to Tinubu as the APC governorship flagbearer for the state, adding that the discussions formed part of ongoing high-level consultations aimed at ensuring continuity in governance, consolidating ongoing reforms, and advancing the vision of a more prosperous and economically vibrant state.

In his two terms, Yahaya earned widespread recognition for his administration’s investments in infrastructure, healthcare, education, agriculture, youth empowerment, security and public sector reforms.

Meanwhile, Gwamna, the former Managing Director of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO), has consistently pledged to build on the achievements of Yahaya’s administration, deepen ongoing reforms, and expand opportunities for economic growth, job creation, and social development across the state.
