The Paramount Ruler of the Tiv nation, His Royal Majesty, Orcivirigh, Prof James Ortese Ayatse has said now that electioneering campaigns are over, Governor Samuel Ortom should concentrate on the task of delivering democratic dividends to Benue people.

Tor Tiv who gave the advise yesterday when Transition Committee led by its chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu alongside other members paid him a visit at his palace in Gboko, the ancestral home of the Tiv nation.

His Royal Majesty equally advised the governor to free himself from sycophants who blocked him from listening to good advices from patriotic stakeholders.

He admitted that the task ahead is enormous and requires serious minded and committed individuals who can help Ortom to advance the cause of development based on experience and expertise.

Prof. Ayatse who doubles as Chairman Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers, lamented the total absence of cottage industries in the state despite the abundant agricultural and industrial potentials in the land and urged the government to look into the disturbing scenario so that the teeming unemployed youths will be absorbed and boost the economic fortunes of the state.

Orcivirigh Ayatse also make case for the review of workers salaries to urgently address the plight of retirees and pensioners.

He charged members of the committee to be proactive and use their wealth of experience to offer useful advice to Governor Ortom so that he will improve the state economy, tame the tide of insecurity and address the continuous farmers-herdsmen crisis and other social vices even as urged them to consider their assignment as a divine duty.

His Royal Majesty further expressed confidence in the ability of the committee to deliver on their mandate given the calibre of composition, adding that the traditional Institution under him will remain solidly behind them to succeed.

Earlier, Chairman of the Transition Committee and former President of the Senate, Dr Iyorchia Ayu told the Tor Tiv that the visit was to seek for his royal blessings and good counsel to effectively discharge their duties and share same with Governor Ortom who has been reelected for another four year term to govern the state better
