Says Oshiomhole Unconstitutionally Blocked His Chance
A leading human rights activist and close ally to Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Tunji Abayomi, has ditched the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to Action Alliance (AA), to pursue his senatorial ambition. Abayomi, who is vying to represent Ondo North Senatorial District in the 2019 general elections, in a letter submitted to the Governor, yesterday in Akure, said: “They just injured our collective rights and now I must find a way out.”

He lamented that the leadership of the party raped democracy by depriving eligible members of the APC to either vote, or agree through consensus their candidates.

It would be recalled that the APC National Working Committee (NWC) gave automatic return tickets to serving senators, depriving two of the Governor’s candidates, Abayomi and Lucky Aiyedatiwa (South District) chances to contest under the ruling party.
